Numerous online casinos launched on day one of Alberta’s new regulated iGaming market on July 13. One of them was bet365, and the British brand’s online slots report for July hints at which games are resonating with Alberta users.

Each month, the bet365 online casino report assesses more than 7,500 slot-specific games that its platform offers across approximately 20 regulated online casino markets worldwide.

Ontario and the rest of Canada have been included in the operator’s reports already, and Alberta was included for the first time as a separate province for the July report that was published on Aug. 14.

IGT debuts at No. 1 in Alberta

bet365 found that IGT’s Cleopatra Keno was the No. 1 slot title on its casino platform in Alberta in the market’s first month, coming in ahead of SpinPlay’s Amazing Link Zeus and Eruption Blaze CASHINGO from Games Global’s Slingshot Studios.

Alberta’s top 10 slots charts included a range of established slot franchises like Gates of Olympus, as well as keno and jackpot-style games, illustrating the various opportunities that the province offers for game studios and developers.

“With every game registering as a new entry, it is too early to identify sustained trends, but the initial rankings suggest bet365 has entered Alberta with a broad casino audience rather than one concentrated around a single game type,” concluded bet365.

Meanwhile, the operator added that the £246,000 (C$462,000) that was won in Alberta via Jackpot365 in month one contributed to the operator’s total payouts passing £100m ($187m) since the product launched in December 2025.

New entries and high risers in Ontario

In the comparatively mature Ontario, which is now into its fifth year as a regulated online casino market, Games Global’s Area Link Phoenix Firestorm retained the top spot on bet365’s casino platform.

Below the No. 1 spot, Pragmatic Play’s Sugar Rush Super Scatter surged 27 places to rank second, while Capital Gains from AGS jumped 30 places to third.

Two new entries also cracked the top 10 in their first month on the market in Ontario: Light & Wonder’s Quick Hit Link – Fire finished fifth and Blueprint Gaming’s Majestic Fury Win Stepper came in one spot lower.

Pragmatic Play dominates elsewhere in Canada

As well as its regulated operations in Alberta and Ontario, bet365 operates in other provinces across Canada.

In the rest-of-Canada segment, Pragmatic Play was the best-represented supplier, with three games in the top 10:

  • Gates of Olympus Super Scatter at No. 5
  • Gates of Olympus 1000 at No. 7
  • Sweet Bonanza 1000 at No. 10.

As in Ontario, Area Link Phoenix Firestorm held firm in the top spot for a second successive month; and, like in Alberta, Amazing Link Zeus ranked second.

bet365’s monthly slots report measures its casino games’ popularity using an algorithm that accounts for several metrics such as revenue, stakes, sessions, and engagement.

“In markets like Ontario, where casino plays a major role, it’s important that we offer a well-balanced, premium experience that appeals to different types of customers,” bet365 Assistant Vice President of Business Development and Government Affairs Andrew Moreno told Canadian Gaming Business before the Alberta launch.

“… A major component of bet365’s brand and strategy is the recognition that no two markets are the same. Just as the US is different from our UK business, the Alberta landscape differs from Ontario.”
