The company was founded with extensive experience in the commercial seating business. A client once pointed out the need for specially designed casino chairs that would increase players’ “time on device” by providing long-lasting comfort and support. Gary Platt revolutionized the casino seating industry when it introduced its X-Tended Play line of casino seating with molded foam, ergonomic features, and four-legged and pedestal-based understructures. One of Gary Platt’s first customers was game manufacturer IGT, who continues to pair its participation games exclusively with Gary Platt chairs, as does Bally, WMS Gaming and Aristocrat. Gary Platt eventually expanded its line of X-Tended Play Seating to include chairs specifically designed for poker and table games.
Gary Platt Manufacturing, based in Reno, Nevada, attended the Canadian Gaming Summit in Calgary, Alberta this past April. The feedback from people attending the show was that Gary Platt Manufacturing has the most comfortable chair in the industry. The response from casinos in Canada that have Gary Platt chairs is that their patrons are exceptionally pleased with the durability and comfort.
