Atlantic Lottery supports community with sponsorship program
The Atlantic Lottery Corporation has launched “2020 Community Proud,” a new contest that gives Atlantic Canadians the chance to secure a $5,000 donation for a local charitable organization they care about.
“Without summer festivals and events this year, we really had to think differently about how we could continue to give back and support our communities,” said Atlantic Lottery president and CEO Chris Keevill. “This contest will allow us to support some deserving charitable organizations, while also encouraging Atlantic Canadians to look forward to when we can all celebrate our community festivals and events together again.”
The Community Proud contest will happen in three waves over the summer months, providing Atlantic Canadians three chances to nominate the charities close to their hearts. There will be a total of 12 prize packages awarded, and as a result, 12 donations of $5,000 to charitable organizations across Atlantic Canada.
In addition to the charitable donation, winning packages will also include a Festival Getaway Package. The package includes four VIP tickets and $5,000 spending money to attend a future Atlantic Lottery-sponsored event when the Festival & Events sponsorship program resumes.
To kick off this initiative, Atlantic Lottery donated $50,000 to the United Way Atlantic Compassion Fund. This Atlantic-wide fund was created to help vulnerable members of our communities as they face more difficulties than ever due to the COVID-19 pandemic
To enter, users can nominate a local charitable organization in their community and explain how they are making a difference in their community on Atlantic Lottery’s Facebook page. For full contest rules and regulations, please visit ALC.CA.
